Creating the perfect wedding blog takes time, attention to detail and a creative flair! I know you love to update your wedding blog when you can, but you might be missing out on ranking higher on google and even on potential clients if you are doing these things:

Not choosing a wedding blog title that your audience is searching for
Do you know what is trending in your industry right now? Do you know what questions your ideal client wants answers to? Make sure you do this research before writing your wedding blog title. If you are offering advice, inspiration or educational tips in your blog, make sure these keywords are also in your blog title. Search engines will read your title to understand what your blog is about, so make sure to add your keywords to your headline.
Not doing your research first
Do you know what keywords your target audience is searching for on google? Have you searched for your keyword to see what your competition is? If you are up again large and established blogs such as Brides or Hitched, you will want to change your title to make it more niche so that you can rank higher for that topic and keyword.
To find trending topics, use google trends or Answer The Public to find what is being searched for on google. You want to focus on high-volume search terms with a lower competition that you can try and rank for. Try using long-tail keywords that relate to your niche or frequently asked questions in your industry using the keywords or phrases you have found during your research.
Not being consistent with publishing your wedding blog
If you want to be known as an expert in your field, you need to show your audience your knowledge and passion for the subject they are interested in. Posting consistently on your blogs shows search engines and potential clients that you are an expert in this industry and have good credibility. So create a posting schedule so that you show up regularly with a new blog full of quality content.
Not focusing on SEO!
I know it might sound scary or a lot of work, but once you add even the basics of SEO into your blog you will be able to rank higher for your keywords so that potential clients can find you easier on search engines. Start with using a headline analyser to get an idea of how effective your blog title is and what you can do to tweak it for better results.
Do your research on the keywords you want to rank for in your blog and use them throughout through H2 headlines and in the body of your blog. Adding inbound and outbound links will make your blog post credible and add quality content for your audience. And finally, optimise your blog post’s URL to something that is easy to read with searchable terms.
Add a Call To Action
Add a Call To Action (CTA) at the end of every blog. Tell your reader what to do next. Do you want them to read another one of your blogs, go to your services page, contact you? Add this at the end of every blog.
Try to do everything yourself
With a business to run as well as family life, staying on top of writing quality blogs can just be adding stress to your workload. Instead, work with a Virtual Assistant or outsource your blog writing to a copywriter! This will ensure you stay consistent when posting and it’s another task off your To Do list.
