How to Schedule Social Media Posts for your Wedding Business

Social media offers wedding businesses an incredible opportunity for free marketing. However, don’t let “free” trick you into thinking it’s easy. Social media marketing takes hard work and consistent effort to actually be profitable for your wedding business. You can be posting amazing content, but if you aren’t showing up consistently, people won’t engage with your brand consistently. Your audience relies on you for advice and inspiration and needs to build trust with your brand before they invest in your services.

Staying consistent on social media can be a struggle for multiple reasons. You might be trying to grow your own business while working full time, being in education or while raising your family. Not having enough time to show up on your social media can prevent you from posting or being able to commit to having a posting schedule.

Another obstacle which might be preventing you from posting regularly is that you struggle to create enough content for your audience. If you don’t know what to be posting on your wedding business’ social media platforms, you’re going to struggle with having enough content to post.

Knowing that scheduling time to post on your social media and coming up with fresh content ideas can be two of the biggest struggles for wedding business owners’ social media marketing, it’s time to offer some solutions to help.

First up, here are some tips to help inspire your content creation so that your content ideas never run dry:

  • Identify your content pillars and use them to guide the themes for your content.
  • Quality content is content that solves the problems your potential clients have.
  • Ask questions or post polls on your Instagram stories to see what your audience wants to see more of.
  • Use Answer the Public to see what’s being searched for.
  • Check out your competitors.
  • Have a brainstorm session.
  • Collect all your photos in one place so that they are easy to find and manage.

Once you’ve got plenty of ideas for your content, it’s time to start batch prepping it. Schedule some time to sit down and make your posts and write your captions and hashtags. You can create layouts for carousels by using programmes like Canva and SCRL.  Depending on your organisation style, you can create a spreadsheet to keep track of everything you’re prepping and the order you’d like to post it in.

Now that you’ve got plenty of content, it’s time to pick how often you’re going to post and when you want to post. You don’t need to post every day, but picking a regular time and day of the week to post is a good way to be consistent and your audience will come to expect your posting at those times.

So you’ve got the content prepared and your dream schedule in mind…but you still don’t know if you can actually commit to signing onto your socials to post at those times. Who knows what life might throw at you. If you can commit to one day for planning, commit an hour or so for actually scheduling your posts. There are several programmes that will do the posting for you, you’ll just need some time to set it up.

Instagram now has a system that lets you schedule some posts in the app too.

Maintaining a consistent schedule for your wedding business’ social media accounts can be tricky, but now you know the secret to stress free scheduling and planning:

  1. Research and create an endless pool of content ideas relevant to your potential clients.
  2. Schedule time to batch prep content in a way that works for you.
  3. Use a scheduling program to batch schedule and let it post on its own.

Now that you have the knowledge and tools to defeat the consistency struggles, go out and begin prepping and scheduling your content! Remember, keep things achievable. Don’t over do it if it’s not realistic for you to keep up with.
