How to create the best reels for your business

Reels have been a game changer for many content creators and business owners. From TikTok to Instagram, video content has helped wedding businesses get their content in front of new eyes and potential clients. For many wedding businesses, the initial push reels gave to engagement seemed like an untapped gold mine. The algorithm has since balanced out views between single posts, reels and carousels, but there are still a lot of reasons to be posting reels as part of your wedding business’ content plan.

What Makes Reels so Special?

  • Growth – Reels will be pushed to new accounts, not just your current followers. This will help boost your engagement and new viewership.
  • A New Point of View – Reels allow you to show content off in a way you can’t with single posts or carousels. They are great for showing off behind the scenes of your business.
  • Creativity – Reels give you an excuse to get creative in a new way with your content.

When creating a reel for your wedding business, there are plenty of creative decisions to be made. Keep in mind that reels are more than trending audios and dances. There’s a lot of planning that goes into creating a reel of high value.

For your next reels, keep these things in mind:

Pick a Purpose

If you’re going to the effort of making a reel, make sure you think about the purpose of the reel. Are you trying to educate, inspire or entertain potential clients? Each reel should have a clear purpose, otherwise, your audience might not understand why it is of value to them.

Stay True to Your Niche

It’s easy to feel like you should jump on the latest reel trends when you see other content creators getting high views. However, if you can’t find a way to make the trend relate back to your niche and wedding business, there’s no point in jumping on the trend. Just because a reel gets a high amount of views doesn’t mean it’s going to connect you with the right potential clients.

If you are wanting to use trending audio, it’s best to catch the song at the beginning of the trend. Aim to use audio that is under 10k uses as this makes it more likely for your reel to be seen as the audio trend grows.

Show Off Your Personality, Not Just Your Business

Reels are a great way for your audience and clients to connect with you. They give you a chance to add a bit of your own personal spice to your wedding business content. You can make reels that show off your sense of humour, or your aesthetic. If you aren’t showing off a bit of your personality in your reels, you are missing out! Reels are a great way to help viewers connect with you.

Be Consistent

Posting a one off reel and expecting big, long lasting results is unrealistic. Your reels should be posted consistently. This could be one a week, or multiple times a week. Remember, your consistency should be sustainable in order to see results. Reels aren’t a quick fix for engagement, like anything else, you need to be consistent to help build your community and branding.

Make the Most of Your Reels

While reels can feel like a lot of hard work, they can be used on multiple platforms. Tiktok, Instagram, Youtube and Pinterest are all platforms you can share short form video content on. Just be sure to save a copy of your reel or video without a watermark so that you can share it on multiple platforms.

Once you’ve posted a reel you should also share it to your story. If a reel doesn’t immediately get the results you were hoping for, don’t delete it. Audio can begin trending at any time and you can reshare the video if the content is useful and timeless.

Every wedding business should be taking advantage of what reels have to offer to their content plans. There’s no pressure to only post reels, but they are a nice addition to keep your audience growing and engaged with your business.
